In this world you must be
Oh so smart, or Oh so pleasant.
For years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.-Mary Chase
since they've departed from the comic books....i'd have like to seen walker shane stay around just long enough to be in the attack on hershels farm and have killed lori. fucking tired of that bitch and can't wait until she dies.

I kinda hate the way they wrote Rick's speech explaining what happened to Shane. He talked about Shane trying to kill him like he was deducing that. Like he could tell that's what was going to happen, even though there was no solid proof. If he just said "Shane pulled a gun on me. Said he was going to kill me, lead the group, and take back my wife and children," every person in the group would have totally agreed with what Rick did. Instead, Rick was like "You saw how Shane was acting. You all know what he was like. He wanted me dead, so I killed him to protect us!" Claiming self-defense would have been plenty. Instead he was trying to morally justify why he should be alive and Shane should be dead.
He purposefully spoke very obtusely about the whole thing so the group would have a reason to be like "What the fuck, what REALLY happened?"
Yea, I was thinking the same thing during his speech about what happened with Shane. I was like WTF you're making yourself out to look like the bad guy! Could have easily explained what went down and look like the good guy.
My favorite part of this episode is that they finally had to leave the farm. I've never read the comics, but I'm aware of some things like that they hole up in a prison for a while (which they clearly foreshadowed at the end of this episode). I'm just worried that they'll sit around the prison as a relative place of safety and it'll stagnate again like the second season did.
I do think it's funny that they killed off two characters who I barely even knew existed (I certainly couldn't tell you their names). They need to keep up the tension that was lost in most of this season- that they are living under the constant threat of zombie attack. For most of the season it seemed like they just had a zombie or two per episode out of obligation, but a show about zombies needs more than that.
Well he also said during his speech that he knew that is what it was coming down too. I personally liked it and have no problems with it. I do however have a problem with Lauries reaction to him killing Shane and acting like he is a monster. She set this into motion by being a fucking whore.
i think the writers did all that purposely to create tension
lori acting like a bitch again and rick trying to justify himself so that it creates doubt among the group about rick
which is pretty stupid
anyone that kills someone to get you in the woods alone to kill u deserves a death sentence, anyone that says otherwise is a giant faggot that even jesus can't cure
but in order to create this tension, the writers had to remove this logic
I didn't have a problem with the speech. We had a week to wait but Rick killed Shane, Shane came back confirming Jenner finally for him, Carl killed Shane than about four minutes later the farm is overrun people died, stronghold gone out of gas, open to further attack. He realized he let them down partly due to Shane "tainting" the group or however he phrased it but he also realized, partly from Hershel's urging, that his # 1 priority has to be Carl. I don't think this was Rick deciding to be a dictator rather him deciding his word is final as it ultimately means more to him that if Carl died it wouldn't be due to not listening to what he believed to be right or due to people doubting him and making him question his decisions. About being vague regarding killing Shane I couldn't tell if it was the acting or writing that made Rick came off as being defensive and not clear that Shane was going to shoot him.
Bob - don't worry about the prison causing stagnation since they already cast the Governor.
